The Period Piano Company have commissioned some leading graffiti artists to create a fabulous graffiti piano based on NYC subway art.
There is a long history of decorated pianos going back 100s of years and David Winston of Period Piano Company wanted to bring this tradition into the 21st Century, Using the ‘piano as a canvas’, starting was a beautifully shaped and iconic Rippen aluminium piano from the 60s , the piano has been transformed into a modern work of art. The instrument is adorned with the ‘tags’ of famous musicians such as Mozart, Chopin, and Lizst. Underneath the lid is a brooding portrait of Beethoven, whose signature is emblazoned across the top of the lid.
